Lead by Jacob “Jake” Rodriguez, we will leverage the work that has been done for eleven years by Urban Promise Miami and expand the opportunities for these youth.
For middle school age youth, Promise Youth will provide homework help, engaging workshops and an opportunity for fun and safety from negative behaviors. For high school youth who serve as mentors to the younger youth – they will have opportunities to serve as leaders, earn community service hours and a select number will be eligible for paid internships where they will gain employment experience.
The focus of Hope for Miami’s Give Miami Day efforts will be to support this vital work in an urban area of our County which is somewhat lacking in youth development programs. Under the leadership of Mr. Rodriguez, the teens will have fun, avoid peer pressure and flourish.
