The Compass program was first introduced through funding from Thriving Minds (formerly South Florida Behavioral Health Network) to decrease initiation and underage use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD). From 2012 to 2021, we provided evidence-based programming to youth in elementary through high school using Botvin Lifeskills Training. Today, we are excited to announce that Compass is back and ready to make an impact!

We are also excited to be a part of “The Facts. Your Future.” prevention initiative through our Compass program! “The Facts. Your Future.” is a statewide prevention initiative aimed at raising awareness and reducing overdose deaths by equipping Florida’s youth with the knowledge and tools to make healthy choices. In response to Florida’s opioid crisis, this program emphasizes innovative, youth-focused education as a vital strategy in addressing opioid misuse and saving lives. The initiative centers on increasing awareness through the distribution of comprehensive, credible information and resources about the risks and consequences of drug use.

We look forward to making a lasting impact on the lives of Florida’s youth by empowering teens with knowledge, skills, and support. Together, we’re taking a vital step toward a healthier, safer future for our communities. For more information about our Compass program, please visit hopeformiami.org/compass
