Unexpectedly, our beloved Board member and friend, Tracey Bowen Bell, passed away on October 3rd. Because she was such a strong advocate for education and for individuals with special needs, Hope for Miami has set up a college scholarship fund in her honor. Most local nonprofits are aware that the third week in November marks the annual Give Miami Day season, sponsored by the Miami Foundation,  to encourage support for charities in Miami. Hope for Miami has been a participant since the foundation’s inception. Middle school students enrolled in our Kidz2Success  program at the Wayside site location now have the benefit of learning some STEM skills and building robots, thanks to a partnership with high school students from Gulliver Preparatory School .
