Teens & Mental Health at JLA

During Mental Health Awareness Month, Hope for Miami would like to highlight the young people who have completed the Teen Mental Health First Aid training and are now better equipped to listen to the concerns and challenges of their peers. Students at the Jewish Leadership Academy tell us what they learned by completing this course.


Teachers from this school were also previously trained in the curriculum, so if a young person disclosed a serious problem, like suicidal thoughts, both the trained students and the faculty/staff would know how to appropriately respond. Watch the video below to hear what the students had to say.
