Team Member Spotlight: Stacey Saez

1. Hi, tell us who you are, where you are from and how you serve with the team at Hope for

Miami?

Hello! My name is Stacey Saez. I was born and raised in Miami but lived in Lakeland/Tampa for 7 years. I earned my Master of Arts in Human Services from Southeastern University. Yet, I love Miami so much, that I had to move back. I am currently married to the best man on earth and I am a dog mom to a rambunctious German shepherd.

At Hope for Miami, as a case manager, I oversee cases for children that are truant from school. Our end goal is to assist families with resources that will support them and ensure children are attending school. I have always had a passion for working with children and families and I am happy that I get to do it for a living.

2. Thanks, so, how do you think your skills/gifts, knowledge and interests equip you to do your tasks?

Since 2016, I have been working with children and families. I was a dependency case manager with DCF, which truly opened my eyes to the challenges that families experience. It was a heartbreaking task, but it really helped shape my career. In 2018, I began working with families of disabled infants and toddlers. It was my duty to ensure families received the required resources. As one can assume, guiding a family with a recently diagnosed child can be a challenging task. There are many obstacles, and a lot of advocacy needs to be done along the way. Yet, it is always rewarding.

My keen interest in learning propels me to serve my community better. It allows me to constantly learn and find ways to meet needs, despite various obstacles.

3. What’s one aspect of Hope for Miami’s work that most encourages and motivates you?

My favorite part of Hope for Miami is the community of coworkers. They are exceptional individuals. I have been in many circles, but I have yet to find one with so many great people. They are dependable, encouraging, knowledgeable, and the list goes on.

4. Finally, tell us something interesting about yourself to help us get to know you better.

I love to travel. Thus far, I have been to El Salvador, Colombia, Spain, Italy, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and France. It is a phenomenal experience! I absolutely love being able to discover other cultures and their foods. Getting to sightsee is also breathtaking. One of my favorite moments was seeing the Dolomite Alps in Italy.

I hope to travel again soon and perhaps own property in Europe.

Thank you for your time, Stacey! We're glad to have you on the team.
