Meet Camila Masson!

It's our great joy to welcome Camila Masson to our Hope for Miami family to head up our newest program, Healthy for Life. Let’s get to know her.

Hi, tell us a little bit about who you are, where you’re from and how you found out about Hope for Miami.

My name is Camila Masson, I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana but I have lived in Miami, Florida since I was 5 years old. I have always wanted to work with youth populations and serve my South Florida community and I was thankfully connected to Hope for Miami through a good friend who is also employed by HFM

How are you serving with the Hope for Miami team?

I'll be part of the Hope for Miami team as the Project Coordinator for the new Healthy for Life program. I am extremely excited to be helping to raise awareness and education in youth populations on what is HIV, how to prevent HIV, and where individuals can get tested and/or treated for HIV..

How do you think your skills, knowledge and interests equip you to do your tasks?

Through my past experience working with various populations and organizations across Miami-Dade County, I have learned many valuable skills that I believe will help me ensure the success of the Healthy for Life program.

One skill that I believe will help me to promote and represent my program and Hope for Miami well, is my ability to make genuine interpersonal connections with others, especially when out in the community talking to the individuals being served. Being able to communicate both the Hope for Miami and Healthy for Life messages clearly and connect with those being served will hopefully be impactful and relatable for youth populations.

I'm very passionate about serving teenagers and young adults and arming them with the information needed for them to make healthy life choices now so that they can have bright and healthy futures.

Finally, tell us something interesting or fun that will help us get to know you better.

I love being active, reading lots of books, being a part of my local church and spending time with my family and friends. I'm also an avid coffee addict who cannot go one day without at least having one cup!

Thanks, Camila. So glad you're alongside us! You are essential!
