Team Member Spotlight! Meet Jake Rodriguez

Jacob "Jake" Rodriguez is our newest team member - he serves on the Coalición Esperanza team and is also heading-up our new Promise Youth program in Little Havana.

1. Hi, tell us who you are, where you are from and how you serve with the team at Hope for Miami?

My name is Jacob “Jake” Rodriguez. I am originally from Camden, NJ. I am the Project Coordinator for Coalición Esperanza.

2. Thanks, so, how do you think your skills/gifts, knowledge and interests equip you to do your tasks?

I’ve worked with youth for over 15 years, so I’ve developed expert-level program management. The knowledge I’ve absorbed affords me the opportunity to develop strong relationships with youth and help them maximize their potential.

3. What’s one aspect of Hope for Miami’s work that most encourages and motivates you?

There are many things at Hope for Miami that interest me. The one aspect that encourages me the most is its commitment to the youth and families in the community.

4. Finally, tell us something interesting about yourself to help us get to know you better.

A few interesting things about me are:

  • I served in the NJ National Guard for 6 years

  • I am a huge sports fan. My favorite teams are the Philadelphia 76ers and the Eagles.

  • My two favorite hobbies are taking pictures and cooking.
